Su verdadero nombre es John Lowery, nació el 31 de julio de 1971 en Michigan. Fue guitarrista de Red Square Black, Frosted, Rob Zombie y Marilyn Manson donde se hizo conocido. Actualmente toca como solista. Entre sus canciones del disco "The Devil Knows My Name" tiene un cover de Guns N' Roses ( Welcome To the jungle ). Es más bien conocido por haber estado en Marilyn Manson que por haber estado en otras bandas . Fue apodado John 5 porque al ingresar a Marilyn Manson era el miembro número 5.
