Tengo una pc con placa de video on board (placa madre asrock modelo p4vm800)
y el ubuntu 9.04 y solo me reconocia resoluciones hasta 800x600
buscando por ahi encontre que debo editar el archivo xorg.conf que esta en etc/X11.
para editarlo se van a Aplicaciones / Acsesorios / Terminal
en la termina teclean los siguiente:
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
luego la clave o password y se le abre el block de notas
el que esta por defecto que es el siguiente:

Y lo cambian por este. (ojo hay que tener cuidado con las freccuencias del monitor crt):

luego reinicien y en System / preferencias / pantalla
van a tener activadas y lista para seleccionar las resoluciones
1024*768 1360*768 etc..etc
