Esto refleja la magnitud y expectativa que genera la asunción (o no) del mandatario, su salud y las connotaciones políticas que tendrá en los países vecinos. Resulta llamativo que un porcentaje superior al 85% del contenido fue generado en Twitter y que, a diferencia de otras temáticas, sea originado particularmente porusuarios de América Latina. Por otra parte, durante el horario del pico máximo de menciones en Twitter para Hugo Chávez, The Real Time pudo registrar que hubo un tuit cada 3 segundos en promedio desde toda América Latina vinculados al mandatario. Además, se observan diferentes picos máximos, el primero se dio el 31/12/12, con 23.736 menciones, que coincidió con la presencia del vicepresidente Nicolás Maduro en la capital cubana para acompañar a Chávez. El segundo tuvo lugar el 02/01 con 16.595 alusiones, y su contenido está asociado alagravamiento de la enfermedad del mandatario. Este último número se mantuvoestable hasta el 05/01 y tuvo su primera caída el 06/01 con 8.709 menciones. Repuntó el 08/01 con 12.210 alusiones y para las próximas horas se esperan picos máximos mientras se acerca el día de la supuesta asunción del nuevo mandato presidencial. En cuanto a contenidos, se advierte por una parte el pedido de oraciones, deconsignas de unión sudamericana, antinorteamericanas y asociaciones a Cuba y Fidel Castro. Por otra parte, las aguas se dividen en fuertes críticas a la actitud gubernamental, calificada en reiteradas oportunidades como inconstitucional, burlas y hasta rumores de muerte. Otro dato es que del total de tuits, el 27,87% nombra al propio Chávez, lo que hizo que el término Hugo Chávez y Chávez fuera varias veces Trending Topic en los últimos días. Otros hashtags utilizados distaron mucho concentrar tanta convocatoria, por ejemplo el 02/01 #diganlaverdadsobrechavez tuvo apenas 329 tuits del total de ese día, que fueron 19.022.
